Around Wellington:
Most Wellingtonians walk around the centre city, but as Victoria University is at the top of the hill, there are some public transport options available you might want to use:
buses
Wellington Cable Car takes you up the hill and you can get off at Salamanca or at the Wellington Botanic Gardens and walk to the University.
Food
On Campus:
At Victoria there is a range of food options, including cafes, sushi, burgers, krishna, bars and Wishbone. Because AMPHORAE IX will take place during Victoria's break, we cannot guarantee that all these places will be open.
Off Campus:
It’s just a short 5 minute walk to the Kelburn Village shops where you can find a café, bakery, pub, Fish and Chips, Malaysian, Indian and Mediterranean restaurants and take-aways.
A 10 minute walk will take you into Manner’s Mall, from there Cuba St., Courtney Parade and Lambton Quay are close by. The centre of Wellington city provides endless dining options.

Getting Around Victoria University of Wellington
The conference will be held in the Classics Department located on the 5th floor of Old Kirk Building at Kelburn Campus.

Please note that parking at Victoria is limited.
Internet and Computer Access:
Attendees are able to use Victoria Wi-fi via Eduroam.
We will have a few computers set up in our Classics Library for attendees to use.
